Refresher plus Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installations Update (BS7671: January 2008) - City & Guilds 2382-20 (2 Days)

Objective:
The aim of this course is to provide delegates with a refresh of the existing requirements and electrical science and an awareness of the main alterations and additions incorporated in BS 7671:2008.

A refreshment of the existing areas as per the topic list below only those parts of that topic that have changed will be taught and assessed. This course aims to refresh delegates on existing requirements and update delegates on the significant differences between the 16th and 17th editions.


It is primarily aimed at practising electricians and other allied professionals e.g. electrical engineers, contracts managers, designers, consultants, surveyors, and other related trades with a good working knowledge of BS 7671, who have already achieved the City & Guilds Certificate in the requirements for electrical installations (BS 7671: 2001) (2381) or recognized equivalent. It is intended to ensure that they are conversant with the format, content and the application of the current edition of the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671: 2008 (17th edition). It should be noted that limited instruction will be provided on existing requirements and electrical science.

Entry Requirements:
It is expected that candidates should have achieved a qualification which addresses the requirements for BS 7671 such as the City & Guilds Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671: June 2001 (2381) or equivalent in order to satisfactorily complete this qualification. Without evidence of formal qualifications, candidates must be able to demonstrate adequate prior knowledge of BS 7671 to ensure they have the potential to successfully gain the update qualification. Anyone that has not achieved the City & Guilds in the requirements for electrical installations (BS 7671:2001) (2381) or does not have a good working knowledge of the requirements of BS 7671 or recognized equivalent should take the qualification addressing the Wiring Regulations in full – the Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installations to BS 7671:2008 (2382-10).

Approach to the Course and Assessment:
This unit will be assessed by a multiple choice online test covering the underpinning knowledge relating to the content and application of BS 7671

Duration: 2 Day including GOLA (Global Online Assessment)
